What

We gather together in Central (North) Oxford to worship God and hear a talk from the Bible.

What

Everyone is welcome to our services, no matter whether you’ve been attending church for years or you’re exploring faith for the first time. We start at 3pm with refreshments, including Fairtrade tea and coffee as well as juice and water. With our actual service starting at 3:30pm.

Each service lasts for an hour and a half, and consists of singing (using a mixture of old hymns and modern songs), a talk from the Bible (lasting around 30 minutes), prayer for our city, our nation, and the nations of the world, and some news about upcoming events.

Children and young people are a crucial part of the life of Emmanuel Church and each week we have activities for 0-11s.

Once a month we share communion – bread and wine – to remember the death of Jesus, and we also hold baptisms and baby dedications throughout the year. Feel free to take part in our services as much or as little as you would like - you’re under no obligation to do anything other than watch and listen to what’s going on. There's also an opportunity to give financially during the meeting - this is for those who consider Emmanuel Church to be their home, so please let the baskets pass you by.

For more information, please contact the Central (North) site leader Email David May.

Children & Youth

We want to make sure Sundays are beneficial for everyone, not just adults.

Children & Youth

Children and young people are a crucial part of the life of Emmanuel Church. We have activities for ages 0-11 during the meeting.

    Safeguarding

We are committed to the nurturing and safeguarding of our children and young people. Children aged 0-11 need to be registered by a parent or guardian and collected from their group at the end of the service, all of our youth and childrens workers are required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check, and we have a comprehensive Safeguarding Policy which can be found here.

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another.
