Well that’s it! The end of the first term. It has been so much fun, there has been so much (maybe too much) ice cream, and there has been plenty of laughs along the way.
We finished for the term the way we started, with way too much food. Only this time it was Christmas themed. It has been a privilege to get to know the youth that have come along, and a joy to see them bringing their friends!
At the Christmas party, we had the joy of being able to wrap gifts for the homeless that the Central Connect Group took out and delivered. I think that may have been one of the highlights for the group, and something they all said they would be more than happy to help with again!
We, as a group, have come up with some ideas to do in the New Year, some bigger than others but amazing nonetheless. There is a lot of excitement whenever we meet together and hopefully that will continue and grow as we get to know each other more and explore areas of faith and life together, and do some cool fun stuff.
I am really looking forward to the next term to see how God begins to develop the youth group and what adventures He takes us on. I am also excited to get to know the youth more over the coming weeks and months.
Here are a few things I would love if you could be praying for:
- The leaders – that they continue to love the kids and find it a real joy and delight to be part of the youth’s lives
- The youth – that they continue to grow together and grow in confidence to ask their friends along
- For each meeting – that God would powerfully be present with us and helps to guide and grow each of us, youth and leaders alike.
