Please join us in this New Year week of prayer. It was Martin Luther who said: “To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.” At Emmanuel we love to pray and depend on it as we seek the Lord for the next steps we take as a church.
Our goal this week is to pray for a broad range of important topics and each of these is laid out, day-by-day, in this booklet. Please set aside time to seek God each day and let’s stand together. The Lord loves to see unity and faith among his children – it re ects something so valuable from his own character.
As the week progresses we will turn our energy towards prayer for revival in the UK and the nations. It was Charles Spurgeon, the Victorian preacher, who said: “To get nations back on their feet, we must first get down on our knees.”
It remains a wonderful privilege to come to the Lord in prayer, knowing that the prayers offered by God’s righteous ones achieve much (James 5:16).
God bless you as you set aside time to seek him this week.
During the week we will also gather together for corporate prayer at 8PM on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, as well as a retreat on Saturday. Please join us!
